Walk The Plank Unleashes HarDCore Fury with 'Loathe'

Get ready to be blasted back into the harDCore scene as Walk The Plank unveils their latest EP, "Loathe," dropping like a bomb via Mt. Crushmore Records. It's a musical tirade that makes the last four years of waiting seem worth it (almost).

This release holds the distinction of being the band's first since 2018's "Void Treader" and their first batch of entirely new material since 2017's "Cemetery Vacation." Apparently, Walk The Plank decided to take a vacation from releasing music, but guess what? They're back, and they're feeling particularly loathsome.

As the story goes, after a sunny tour in Mexico, the band found inspiration in the sun-soaked beaches to create an EP about...death, hate, sadness, and, of course, the ever-relatable topic of boredom. Because nothing says punk rock like screaming about how life is so dreadfully dull.

Ian Crocker, the man behind the microphone, embraced the solitude of Washington D.C., where apparently death, hate, and sadness are as abundant as tourists with selfie sticks. The result? An EP that channels more negative energy than your last family reunion.

The EP dives headfirst into the darkness with tracks like "Anti-Social Media," because what's more punk than hating on your screen-addicted friends? It's not just an auditory assault; it's a social commentary – a profound reflection on gun violence, failing relationships, and even a song from the perspective of an abused dog (because why not?).

Recorded under the watchful ear of Ben Green of Fairweather, "Loathe" is Walk The Plank's way of saying, "We're back, b***hes!" New members Zeeshan Shad and John Crum join the lineup, and according to Alex Reimer, it's just a teaser of what's to come. Brace yourselves for an album that, fingers crossed, won't make us wait another four years.

So, if you're into harDCore, social critiques, or just need an outlet for your unresolved angst, "Loathe" is your ticket. Walk The Plank is back to remind you that life might be loathsome, but at least there's punk rock.
