Rodney Bingenheimer sucks. Surprise! It's not just him.

Content warning: sexual assault

This is absolutely outrageous! I'm furious about the disturbing allegations against Rodney Bingenheimer, the renowned L.A. DJ. This man, once revered in the music industry, is now at the center of a scandal involving accusations of sexual assault against multiple underage girls, including Jane Wiedlin of the Go-Go's.

The recent Rolling Stone article uncovers a horrifying pattern of abuse, with multiple women sharing chillingly similar stories of exploitation and assault. Wiedlin, along with four other women, detailed their gut-wrenching encounters with Bingenheimer, describing how he took advantage of their youth and innocence for his own gratification.

The sickening part? Despite these allegations, there has been silence from Bingenheimer and his representatives. How can someone face such grave accusations and not offer a single word in response? It's infuriating and deeply concerning.

Wiedlin's bravery in coming forward is commendable, but it's heartbreaking to hear her conflicted emotions. She's left grappling with the trauma of an incident that robbed her of innocence, and it's clear this has deeply affected her even after all these years.

The extent of the damage inflicted by Bingenheimer doesn't stop at Wiedlin; the Rolling Stone article exposes the accounts of other women who endured similar encounters of exploitation and abuse. It's a horrifying revelation that demands immediate attention and action.

The accusations of sexual assault and manipulation against minors paint a disturbing picture of someone who was once considered an influential figure in the music scene. It's time for accountability. SiriusXM, where Bingenheimer hosts a weekly show, needs to address these allegations and take a stance...or maybe even just go away.

The silence surrounding these allegations is deafening. How can such accusations against someone with a position of power go unanswered? It's appalling and demands swift and decisive action. Perhaps the more frustrating aspect of this is the fact that accusations go unanwered against even normal people.

As much as I love punk rock and the punk scene, I feel like I can't scroll my feed, go to the bathroom at a show, or dance in the pit without hearing about or experiencing some instance of casual sexual assault- an "accidental" grope, someone getting trailed, or some old friend getting too drunk and thinking they deserve more...and you know what? All the dudes who call themselves "allies" don't do shit. It. Gets. Old.

Do better, assholes.
