Pissed Jeans, the punk provocateurs revered for their biting lyrics and unfiltered sound, storm back into the music scene with their much-anticipated sixth studio album, 'Half Divorced,' slated for a March 1 release under Sub Pop Records.

The album's lead single, "Moving On," arrives with a Joe Stakun-directed music video, showcasing the band's relentless energy within the raw and expansive setting of a warehouse. As they perform, mundane occurrences interweave with their chaotic sound, creating a tantalizing juxtaposition. Check out the intense energy below.

Frontman Matt Korvette's insight into 'Half Divorced' sheds light on its core ethos, stating, "The album has an aggression within it, a declaration of refusing this reality. There's power in saying, 'I acknowledge your priorities, but they hold no value for me. I'm seeking elsewhere.'"

It sounds like the goal is for the album's songs to dissect the collision between youthful aspirations and the harsh truths of adult life with Korvette's scowl serving as a lens through which the world appears absurdly chaotic.

As this lead single shows, Pissed Jeans retain their acerbic humor, dismembering aspects of contemporary adult life with a razor-sharp wit. From mockery of helicopter parents to laments about debt, their lyrics offer biting social commentary.

As Korvette reflects on the album's creation amidst life's trials and tribulations, 'Half Divorced' emerges as an artistic outcry against an increasingly complex reality. The band refuses to comply with conventions, steering their music into hardcore punk territories, delivering songs bursting with a distilled, menacing energy.

This single, and hopefully the album as well, also marks their challenge of pop-punk norms, exploring uncharted territories while retaining their distinct edge. Within the chaos and satire lies a revelation—a call for acceptance of both light and darkness, both marriage and divorce.

We're led to believe Pissed Jeans' 'Half Divorced' is to be a manifesto...an unfiltered portrayal of existence, refusing to be postponed. Leading us to believe that when the album closes with "Moving On," life's ongoing journey will an irrevocable truth. I guess we'll have to wait until March 1 to know for sure.
