Minor Threat Unearths Lost Outtakes for 40th Anniversary: Rare Tracks Sessions Now Available

Minor Threat, the harDCore legends, got back together and took a trip down memory lane for their 40th anniversary. Back in '83, they hit Inner Ear Studio, five-strong

, jamming out six fresh tracks, laying down the groundwork for their iconic 'Out of Step' 12" EP. They revamped "Out of Step" and cooked up "Cashing In," a sly ode to the DC punk scene they rarely played live. Sneakily, they stashed "Cashing In" as a hidden track on the OG vinyl—kept it under wraps, you know?


But get this, there were some forgotten gems! A tape with extra room led to an instrumental, code-named "Addams Family." Plus, they redid "In My Eyes" and "Filler" with dual guitar magic, but those got lost in the shuffle for over 35 years. Cut to 2021, surprise surprise! They dig up these lost tracks, and Ian and Don Zientara, all hyped up, mixed those hidden gems along with the full version of "Addams Family."
