Gouge Away Unveils 'Deep Sage'

Hey punk rockers, brace yourselves for this one: Gouge Away, the powerhouse post-hardcore band from Florida, is making a roaring return with their third studio album, 'Deep Sage,' set to drop on March 15 via Deathwish Inc.!

Back in the Game: After a six-year hiatus, Gouge Away is ready to reclaim the spotlight with an explosive album. The journey to 'Deep Sage' began in 2019 during their tour, shaping up in a storage unit in Orlando, Florida. Demos were crafted with the talented Brok Mende, laying the foundation for the upcoming hardcore masterpiece.

Pandemic Pauses and Resilience: The pandemic hit, forcing a temporary halt, and band members scattered across the country. However, refusing to be held back, Gouge Away regrouped just before New Year's Eve 2022 in Portland, Oregon, infusing more grit into their sound. The result? A sonic adventure that explores the extremes of abrasion and melody within their signature style.

Live and Raw: Recorded in March 2023 with the masterful Jack Shirley at Atomic Garden East, 'Deep Sage' captures the essence of Gouge Away's live performance. Vocalist Christina Michelle, isolated in a booth, adds a raw and immediate layer to the band's discography. The recording approach embraces the intensity of live sessions, ensuring a genuine and unpolished punk experience.

Sneak Peeks: Ahead of the album, Gouge Away treats fans to the second song, "Stuck in a Dream," accompanied by a vibrant music video directed by Caleb Gowett. If this track is any indication, 'Deep Sage' promises an unapologetic, fierce, and electrifying return to the hardcore scene.
