Dot Dash drops a Jangle-Fueled Joyride with '16 Again'

Oh hey...I heard you were looking for a rekkid that bridges eras and genres, delivering a collection of power-pop gems that will have you bopping around your room in no time? Well, has Dot Dash got the thing for you!

Straight out of Washington D.C., Dot Dash comprises guitarist/singer Terry Banks, bassist Hunter Bennett, and drummer Danny Ingram. With deep roots in the D.C. music scene, this trio brings a wealth of experience, having played in notable bands like Julie Ocean and Youth Brigade.

"16 Again" is a celebration of Dot Dash's musical evolution, featuring 15 handpicked gems from their 7-album back catalog and a delightful cover of Television Personalities' 'Jackanory Stories.'

From the nostalgic jangle of "Forever Far Out" to the edgy allure of "Tense & Nervous," Dot Dash showcases their "jangle-fu" prowess, delivering power-pop that spans era- it would be just as at home dropping down on to the turntable after Big Star, popping up after the Material Issue on 120 Minutes, or in a “Power Pop Essentials” Apple Music playlist right after Ex Hex – this album is the missing piece for your energetic pre-funk ahead of a big night out.

The lyrics are poetic, introspective, and at times, hilariously honest. In "Tatters," Dot Dash muses, "Illusions get shattered along the way, and everything’s in tatters anyway." The Dylan Thomas homage in Forever Far Out is inspiring, "I was going gentle into that good night / I didn’t rage, rage against the dying of the light. / If it takes forever, if you get far out, If it’s now or never or over and out." 16 Again aims to have you singing along, gin and tonic raised in no time.

Dot Dash, masters of crafting two-minute melodic bangers, bring an energy that's both timeless and fresh. Their "greatest hits" album, despite the band lacking commercial hits, is a testament to their undeniable musical prowess.

As we revel in the charm of "16 Again," we can't help but hope for a future release that delves even deeper into the grit hinted at in tracks like "Tense & Nervous" and "The Color and the Sound." The prospect of more of that edge in upcoming releases from Country Mile Records has us eagerly awaiting what Dot Dash has in store.
